Why this exists

The NHS can't keep up.
You shouldn't have to wait.

2.76m

People currently waiting

As of December 2025, an estimated 2.76 million people in England are waiting for an ADHD assessment — over half for more than a year.

7 yrs

Maximum NHS wait — some areas

In parts of London, Kent, and Sussex, NHS waiting lists now stretch to 5–7 years. ADHD doesn't wait. Neither should you.

694%

Rise in diagnosis among women

Recording of ADHD among adult women aged 31–49 has risen 694% in five years. Most spent years being told they were anxious or overwhelmed.

What happens
if you have ADHD?

📋

You receive your diagnostic report

A full written report from your consultant psychiatrist, delivered within 48 hours. Includes diagnosis, clinical reasoning, and a personalised treatment recommendation.

🏥

Your GP receives a letter

We send a clear clinical letter to your GP summarising the assessment outcome. This opens the door to an NHS shared care prescribing arrangement — meaning ongoing medication costs you £9.90/month or less.

💊

Optional: private medication titration

If your GP doesn't immediately accept shared care (it varies by region), we offer a private titration service. You work with a prescriber to find the right medication and dose over 12 weeks, then transfer to NHS prescribing.

🔄

Ongoing support if you need it

Annual reassessments, medication reviews, and follow-up appointments available through Clarita. You don't have to start again from scratch every time.

What does it cost long-term?

Most patients transition to NHS prescribing after their private assessment — making the ongoing cost very low.

Clarita assessment (one-off) £695–£1,250
NHS shared care prescription £9.90/month
Prescription exemption (if eligible) £0/month
Private titration (if needed) £150–£250/appt
Annual review via Clarita From £150
Most patients who get a Clarita assessment have their medication fully covered by the NHS within 3–6 months. The assessment is a one-off investment — not an ongoing cost.
NHS recognition

Is a private diagnosis
accepted by the NHS?

Will my GP accept the diagnosis?
Yes — in most cases. Our assessments follow NICE NG87 guidelines and are conducted by GMC-registered consultant psychiatrists. Most GPs accept NICE-compliant private reports for shared care prescribing. We recommend confirming with your GP beforehand if you have concerns.
What is a "shared care agreement"?
After a private diagnosis, your GP can take over prescribing your ADHD medication on the NHS — meaning you pay standard prescription charges (£9.90, or free if exempt) rather than private rates. Our GP letter is specifically written to make this conversation easier.
We saw the Panorama investigation. How is Clarita different?
We've seen it too — and it matters. Every Clarita assessment is conducted by a consultant psychiatrist (not a nurse or technician), follows NICE NG87 in full, and includes a comprehensive written report. We only work with clinical partners whose assessments are consistently accepted by NHS GPs. We don't cut corners on clinical quality because our reputation depends on yours getting the right result.

Questions

Everything you
need to know

Will my GP accept the diagnosis?

In most cases, yes. Our assessments follow NICE NG87 and are conducted by consultant psychiatrists. We recommend a quick conversation with your GP before booking if you have concerns — and we can help you frame that conversation.

Do I need a GP referral?

No. You can book directly. We do notify your GP of the outcome as part of safe clinical practice, so you'll confirm this during booking. If you'd prefer your GP to refer, that's also fine.

What if I'm not diagnosed with ADHD?

A thorough assessment that rules out ADHD is still valuable — it helps identify what might actually be happening. Your report includes clinical recommendations regardless of the outcome.

How is Clarita different from other clinics?

Every assessment is consultant-led — not nurse prescriber led. We follow NICE NG87 in full. Our clinical partners are CQC-registered. We've built this specifically to avoid the quality issues raised by Panorama.

Can I get medication through Clarita?

Yes, with the Assessment + Titration package. We privately prescribe during a 12-week titration period, then support you in transferring to NHS shared care prescribing — reducing your ongoing costs significantly.

Is this available across the UK?

Yes. All assessments are conducted by secure video call. You can access Clarita from anywhere in England, Scotland, Wales, or Northern Ireland with a stable internet connection and a laptop or tablet.
